Details, Progress, and Small Space Planning
DETAILS + PROGRESS
So it’s week five, and the bones of this bedroom are just about fully restored. At just a glimpse of this small closet, I must say it is something to be said about minor repairs to a wall and a pop of color with fresh paint. While the details are definitely my favorite part of interior design and renovation; the entire transformation of a space is thrilling. To put this into perspective this week I’m sharing a glance of where we started in the closet vs. where we are now. But first. About these stunning, monogrammed hangers. I loved these hangers at first sight for Raegan’s closet. Perfect shade of beige, pop of gold, and her initial in gold. The perfect combination to give all the luxe feels with a special touch of personalization. Homegoods never disappoints for these types of unexpected finds!
Back to the closet foundation. A few caulking and wood trim touch ups are needed, however the level up mission has been accomplished. The original hardwood floor came back to life pretty nicely as well. See below.

SMALL SPACE SQUAD
The layout of the room took a significant amount of thought and planning. During week two I shared footage of the blue tape fun had while outlining the floor to plan layout. Also sharing a before view of the opposite side of the room. Furniture scenario play wore me out!
A twin bed was an obvious choice. Adding the optional large drawers underneath was another no brainer for added storage and maximizing the vacant real estate under the bed. I’m a proponent of utilizing all space possible without necessarily having wall to wall furniture. I am also an advocate of sourcing smart systems that have multiple pieces in the collection. This is great to consider for children who may one day outgrow their current bedroom or have a need for added pieces later. More on the furniture sourced and an informational review to come.
For now I’ll leave you with one more detail sneak peek. The photo below does no true justice, so of course I have footage and tips on the small DIY mini project that accompanied the use of these beauties. Just know I’ve definitely sharpened up my skills with my trusty DEWALT drill. You may have seen me with it in hand in past installs for client and home projects. My husband gifted it to me once he saw the smaller drill I had, which was not giving the power it needed to give. Yours truly did research afterwards to see why he chose the brand. Totally random, but if you’re in the market for a new cordless drill click here for a current review by T3 on the DEWALT being the best drill for 2022. Ok, back on topic. How special are these flower knobs for the dresser??
PROGRESS RECAP
The wallpaper by sponsored by Minted is up, new lighting sponsored by ALORA has been installed, and all decor deliveries have arrived. A full install is now a working progress as forecasted last week. All furniture is assembled. Over the next couple of weeks leading up to the reveal I’ll be taking extra time with decisions on accessories to be used for photos vs. styling the room for my niece in real life. There will be noted differences in photos later. When that time comes perhaps you’ll remember this being the reason. Also, I’ll be sharing one last sneak peek and some behind the scenes ‘lost files’ footage. If you’re new here, thank you for your interest in the blog and this project.
