CHECK IN We talked about reflecting, resetting, and planning to end the year on a high note in our December 1st post. Hopefully you’ve taken some holiday time off or had some quiet moments to indulge in. Planning my time off in the corporate arena admittedly wasn’t done very well for the end of this year. But, I’m making up for it by being off for the first 5 days of 2020! As for the business, thankfully we had a strong finish to our first official year. How did you do? My prayer for you is that you also finished strong, and if you didn’t finish as well as you would’ve liked to; don’t be too hard on yourself. Hopefully you’re now in midst of prepping for a strong start to the new year and the new decade!! GOALS By now you’re probably setting some amazing goals that each will have a heap of action items attached (as goals should). That said, I challenge you to pause and reconsider your goals list. Are they in alignment with your business or personal missions? Are they measurable? Are they in any type of priority order? Are they realistic, yet challenging enough? Do they promote some personal growth or just check boxes? These are all questions I’m in the process of asking myself!! So, if you’re not 100% sure we have time to figure it out now together. This doesn’t have to be written in stone before the ball drops at 11:59pm on 12/31st! Take a little pressure off yourself. Just a friendly reminder; these are YOUR goals, not your followers on the gram nor those that like to tell you what you should be doing (as if they’re doing so much more). Stay focused on what’s most important for you on your goals journey. GROWTH Let’s talk about taking a leap of faith perhaps to add something to the list that will pluck your feet out of your comfort zone!! As if the challenge to reconsider your goals wasn’t enough, I would like to leave you with this one more challenge. Consider replacing one or two of your goals with something to do, try, or a place to go that requires you to stretch. I’m a firm believer that these are the very things that help us grow personally. After all, what good is goals checking or business success if you’re not growing personally in the process?! When I turned 40 I started doing all kinds of bucket list things, and these became top priority in my personal goals lists. Besides, for me; losing weight for example being listed every year became redundant and most times a repeat offender on my ‘goals’ list.
I will share a few faith leaps I took to stretch myself over the past couple of years. I learned to swim (finally at 40), went zip lining in a rain forest & climbed Duns River Falls in Jamaica, and most recently this year blazing wooded trails on a 4 wheeler. Not suggesting your list having to include such adventurous activities nor facing a major fear (yet); but you get the point. Just try not to get so caught up in the goals race putting yourself under so much pressure that you lose yourself in the midst. "write the vision and make it plain, that he may run who reads it. For the vision IS yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry" -Bible

Thanks Queen! I’m excited to see what this next decade brings too!!
I truly love the tips you provided for goal setting!! I’ve created some beautiful memories over the past decade and I’m looking forward to creating many more in the coming years.
Yes increased knowledge mission!!🙌🏽 You’re not alone in this around finances. I have a good book recommendation someone recently shared with me that I will circle back to share, it’s on my list of must reads!!
This was a good charge to my engine. Starting writing goals this morning. To list a few, knowledge is power...I plan to educate myself more on the power of being debt free. Management of finances is top on my list. I’m not horrible but I have big goals that require some different knowledge
